BLUFFTON, OH – Ottawa Glandorf and Spencerville punched their tickets for a date against one another next week in Elida as they each posted Sectional Finals victories Saturday night in Bluffton.
OG got the better of Lima Central Catholic in the early game 50-16 while the Bearcats were victorious in the night cap 43-35 against Liberty Center.
In the Titans first quarter against the T-Birds it was Erin Kaufman who ignited the offense to a white hot level as she accounted for 11 of her game high 13 markers in the period. Kaufman, a second team All-District pick this season erupted for her 26th career double figures game in the opening eight minutes by knocking down a pair of three pointers that helped OG distance themselves early from their opponents.
LCC’s only score of the first stanza came with 2:43 left in the first quarter as Erin Mulcahy drained a triple try to trim the Titans lead to 13-3. Nearly seven minutes after hitting her teams first shot, Mulcahy again pushed across a score to make the scoreboard read 34-5 with 2:44 left in the opening half.
A strong defensive effort from all 15 players the Titans sent into the ballgame resulted in just five shots being made from the field for LCC on the evening and into a multitude of makes in the fast break for OG.
Once the game became final with the Titans on top, 9 Ottawa Glandorf players found themselves in the scorebook led by Kaufman with 13. Kadie Hempfling finished the contest with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the WBL Champions who move to 21-2 on the season.
LCC (3-21) was led by the duo of Jessica Wilker and Mulcahy who each ended the night with 5 points apiece.

Neleya Burden got the offense off to a hot start in the first quarter for Spencerville (16-8) with all six of her games points but it was the duo of Grigsby and 5’5 freshman guard Emma Leis who laid down big shots from outside the arc to push their team into the lead 14-13 after one period.
Meghan Skeens launched and connected on both three pointers in the contest for Liberty Center (14-10) in the game. 5’10 senior post Jerica Hollenbaugh collected her points in the paint throughout the game and kept the Tigers close while finishing with 9 to lead her squad.
Liberty Center entered the fourth quarter with a 30-27 lead they would hold on to tight before Abbygayle Satterfield forced a 32-32 tie with 4:43 remaining.
Melanie Koenig’s free throw halfway through the final eight minutes put the Bearcats on top 34-33 where they would stay for good.
